The Resort at The Mountain
is nestled in a spectacular mountain valley within the Mount Hood National
Forest and next to the Huckleberry Wilderness Area. The Three Nines Golf
Course features greens that are ranked among the finest in the Pacific
Northwest. With 300 acres of lush evergreen forests and bordered by the
wild and scenic Salmon River, The Three Nines provide a wonderful golf
experience for golfers of all levels. Located at the base of Mount Hood,
the resort's three nines, Foxglove, Thistle and Pine Cone, make for
outstanding golf and scenery. John Harbottle, a
well known Northwest golf architect, helped to redesign the golf course
which changed two of the three nines. The idea was to make the course more
challenging for the good players and easier for the novices. The redesign
was started in 1998 and was completed in 2001. The redesign of Three Nines
Golf Course has increased the course s slope as well as golfer s
enjoyment. They built eight new greens, which are modified USGA greens,
allowing for better drainage and added more contour creating additional
challenge.
